Q301 RAE

Built in the mid-80s by Mark Verden from parts supplied by Malcolm, this was dubbed a Mark 1.5 Quasar as it used a standard Quasar chassis and retained Reliant power, but used a Moto Guzzi five-speed gearbox and transmission in conjunction with Bob Tait Hub-Centre steering.

Other improvements included a four-branch exhaust and an adjustable seat-back in place of the standard Quasar 'hammock' arrangement.

Mark subsequently cut out the roof from the top of the windscreen to the boot, in order to get better head room.

After a long period of neglect the bike was sold to Ed.Kaczmarczyk, subsequently suffering severe fire damage. It may have changed hands again since.
